One half of the whole known as "Dioscuri". Dioscuri held the ability to split themselves into two different people. One half taking on the name "Dio" and the other half taking on the name "Uri" when they separated.During the Sundering, Dioscuri split two in the midst of the chaos to find their partner. While Dio managed to escape with them, Uri who had been guarding the rear, got caught in a fight and unfortunately left behind and sundered with the rest.Dio, unable to return to the whole that was "Dioscuri" with Uri being killed and sundered, slowly began to go insane. Fearing that he would ruin their plans, the Ascian's decided to seal him in the rift.In the final scheme of one last rejoining by the Ascian's that remained. They unleashed Dio with every intention of him going mad and causing another rejoining in his madness.However, before he did, he sensed Uri, his other half. He followed that to find a sundered shard of Uri; Astra Mercer. Despite only being a small fragment of what was once his other half, Dio slowly began to regain his sanity around her and also filled in the missing void that Astra felt all her life.
